A really competitive card for the derby day. A 10 race card for the day, with lot of trainers going all out to stake their claim. The races will push few horses to the limit, and chance of new record timings are very much there.Enjoy the day and have a blast.
Race 1. Red Tabasco, Rio Del Ray, Nou Camp , Upset : Hurricane Bird
A 5f race having 18 horses running. This sort of race is won based on draw and Jockey merit more than the horses' merit. Hurricane Bird is bred for speed, is tracking OK, can place at long odds note. Nou Camp at thiw weight will be a danger. Rio Del Ray is drawn wide, likes to come from wide, has a chance here.Mesmerizer is thought of very highly, can win, but better to leave today as running after long time.Red Tabasco has run in upper class and ran well, in same distance, will be the one to beat. Foxtrot is a horse with good initial speed, drawn wide, will still go to front cutting across, has not been fancied till now, but the odds offered it too less to take a chance on it.
Race 2. Javo, Majestic Force, Word Of Honour Upset : Home Alone
THE MCDOWELL SIGNATURE PREMIER TROPHY: A 3 year old maidens race.
The main contenders are Home Alone, Javo, Majestic Force, Combined Operation and Word Of Honour.
Combined Operation is bred well, has improved after last run will run a good race. Word Of Honour has finished in the frame in both starts, can fight. Majestic Force has improved after each run, with C.Rajendra to ride will go all out. Javo had an easy run 1st time up, seems to have come to hand lately, with this Jockey will be the one to beat. Home Alone is tracking well, is bred for speed, will run a good race, but not sure how it will do over a mile.
Race 3. Evangilist, Money Flash, Rob N Rob Upset : Escalating
A class V 1000 m race. An upset from Nuncio or Rising Asset is expected.
Race 4. Laserre(E/W), Sacred Relic, Azul Upset : Roesti
THE ROMANOV RED `CHASE YOUR PASSION` TROPHY: The race should be between Azul, Laserre, Roesti, and Sacred Relic. Sacred Relic at this handicap will spell danger to all. Laserre has been twice unlucky, will run well today, watch out.Azul won well last time, handicap is stiff, but will still hope to place. Roesti , if it stays the distance , can win.
Race 5. Pure Elation(E/W), Illustrious, Tequilla Upset : Estevez.
THE VLADIVAR CUP : The field looks highly competitive. The main contenders are Rajasthan Royals, Estevez, Illustrious, Pure Elation, Star Of Venus and Tequila. The race can anyway. Rajasthan Royals last win was very convincing, though at stiff handicap, will still make the race competitive. Estevez can do this distance, provided the Jockey shows some good skill. Illustrious, the unlucky horse, if everything is fine will make mincemeat of the opposition. Pure Elation at this handicap is a danger to all. Star of Venus if fit will fight all, not sure about its fitness. Tequila is at a very good handicap, will do all running and can end up holding on.
Race 6. Dancing Glances, Caribbean Queen, Zaracha Upset : Lago Medio(E/W)
THE ANTIQUITY BLUE `FUSION OF THE FINEST` TROPHY : 22 horses running here, the Jockey merit and draw will again decide the faith of the race. An upset is likely.
Race 7. Becket, Star Future, Diego Rivera Upset : Native Knight(E/W).
THE R.N. KANGA GOLD TROPHY : A class mile race. The race is having a very interesting look with Star Future, Native Knight, Beautiful Stranger, Diego Rivera and Becket being the main contenders. Diego Rivera with this jockey has a good chance to push all to the limits. Becket was unlucky last time, can win here with the top wt. as well. Beautiful Stranger can place. Star Future at this handicap is a danger to all. Native Knight is a classy horse, the handicap is very tempting, if the Jockey is alert enough can upset.
Race 8. Salt, Pronto Pronto, Mountain Fairy Upset : Mystic Touch.
THE B.K. RATTONSEY MEMORIAL MAIDEN MULTI-MILLION : A race for 3 year old.
Pronto Pronto last run was good, has improved further will fight here. Mystic Touch is bred well , tracking well can place. Salt is speedy, the BLK will help, is the one to beat here. Mountain Fairy can place .
Race 9. Moonlight Romance, Xisca, Berlusconi(E/W) Upset : Dear Henry(E/W)

The contenders :-
Batista : The role of pacemaker will be performed.
Berlusconi: Will stay for sure, needs tough handling, which Srinath will surely do, will finish closer to the frame.
Camacho: Not here.
Dear Henry: Has got bad habits. It has got large strides, will stay for sure.Needs to be up with the field till straight, can then make a race of it. Sylvester's main work is to keep him in the fray till the straight and then he can upset all.
Macchupicchu: Ran well in last race, is classy, if it stays can cause huge problems to all but i doubt that.
Ocean Admiral: The Pacemaker of the RKW camp.
Ocean And Beyond: The horse running as favourite, with R.Hughes choosing over MR, little surprising choice though. Horse is talented, but at this distance with so many contenders fighting to beat it, i don't like its chances.Can win , but better to leave and watch the race.
Unleashed: Has improved with each run, will stay for sure as evidenced by its run in bangalore derby, can sneak in a place at the most.
Moonlight Romance: A very intelligent animal, will keep everyone here on their toes, can win with a measure of comfort if the Jockey makes his move at the proper moment.
Scionic: Talented horse, but running after a long time, not sure it will stay.
Sunlight: Will be employed the same tactics as the Oaks, can hope to place.
Xisca: A vastly improved horse, has not lost after last summers Bangalore derby and showing improvement after each run. Only concern can be that it is over raced.The Jockey Pasquier suits him absolutely fine, will surely make a race out of it.
Race 10. Moonlight Beauty, Hottie, Adventurer Upset : Bespoke
A 18 horses race. A bad race.
