The kolkata derby day. The day when pride takes the front seat, and suddenly all non performers of the season get the wings, and perform out of the blue.

Race1.Songstress, Melody Belle Upset : Knight Of Therealm
A 3 year old maidens race.Knight Of Therealm well bred running first time is very well prepared should run well.Melody Belle is well bred, performed well last time, showing some good speed, should be the main contender.Songstress is very well bred, with the foreign jockey riding , should give good account of itself.

Race3.Silken Dancer,Accomplished Upset : Strauss.
Race4. Make My Day,Saddle Chief, Missoni Upset : Flirting Eye
Race5. Recardo, Adriano,Born To Fly Upset : Our Little Savage
Race6. Delphi,Agent Archie Upset :Impressive Wish

Race7. Whistling Strait, Secrecy, Optimum Pride Upset : Salihah
A 3 year old sprint race. Secrecy is tracking well.Whistling Strait is tracking well, ran well last time, only concern is the weight.Optimum Pride ran well last time, has come up a lot, only concern is jockey.Salihah is best bred here, but does not look optimally prepared.

Race8.Upset : Xisca, Alice Springs, Hall Of Glory .Upset : Andromache
The EVEREADY CALCUTTA DERBY STAKES (2010-2011).
The Contenders:
Hall Of Glory : Best of the Khaitan horses' running. Prepared well, lost over 2000mts to Alice Spring earlier, well rested than its competitors. The Jockey has to pull something out of the ordinary to upset the fancied duo.
Ballibay: A hyped horse, very much a class II animal at most in Bangalore circuit, wont be able to compete in this distance in this class.
Alice Springs: A big hearted horse, will fight every inch of ground. With C.D. Hayes to guide her fortune will have a big say in the final outcome of the race.
Xisca : Won over same distance beating Alice Springs, but was given a fright.The horse is over raced than lot of horses, that is a concern. Stephen is a very renowned jockey in France specially for the derby  distance, will prove his mettle here, might be the difference today.
Andromache : Has improved a lot, can be the jack in the pack.

Race9.Bernardino, Zillionaire , Vence Upset : Giocometti
