The race card consists of 7 races, with few competitive races.

Race1. Swiss King , Ijlal   Upset : Sea Cat.

A bad race to start the day. Only few horses looks like will try to win the race. Ijlal is one of them, was running 6 f in Pune, but made to run wrong distances in Kolkata. Today running proper distance will fight if tried. Swiss King last run was might impressive in upper class, today with I.Chisty will be tough to beat. Sea Cat is the other horse who looks to run proper distance will place for sure can upset.

Race2.Sokudo, Alayir(E/W),  Incanto Bliss Upset : Secret Gloss.

A 3 year maiden race, always has that element of surprise. The race will be between Incanto Bliss, Alayir, Sokudo and Secret Gloss. Alayir tracking extremely well, will be tough to beat if it can replicate that in the race. Sokudo looks to be a very speedy horse, will be a front line contender. Incanto Bliss is also a speedy type, has improved a lot , will run well as well. Secret Gloss  is , not being outstanding in tracks, but can surprise.

Race3. Hadrian, Desert Image, Satsuma Star.

The race is at the mercy of Hadrian. The other contenders are Satsuma Star and Desert Image 

Race4. Triunfo, Rocket Ball, Snowberry Upset : Moon Flower

Race5. Secret Love,  Auckley, Credit Ease Upset : Razmaden

Race6.  Ikaria(E/W) ,Alacrity ,Piato Upset : Rimpuche

A class I sprint trophy race. The main attraction of the day with a good competition. Ikaria should run well again, is a very good horse and very consistent. The wt. wont be stopper, will make a race of it. Alacrity, last time was out handicapped, today at a very good handicap. The pace of the race will also suit it, will fight. Piato, long absence is an issue, is a natural sprinter can run well. Rimpuche with Sylvester guiding it can surprise all.

Race7. Alize, Accardo,Bayberry Upset : Petra

A 9 card race day, with good competitions in almost all races.


Race1.  Showers Of Luck, Jewel Lady, Mighty Monarch. Upset : Son Of The Sun 
A bad race . Showers Of Luck handicap is stiff but can still win as meeting very poor competition.Son Of The Sun running pattern is very odd, can surprise in one of these days.Jewel Lady is running the right distance today, should be surely watched.

Race2. Hatsuhana(E/W),Alpha Baby,Baton Rouge Upset : Lowndes Square
A competitive race where the jockey merit will be pivotal. The main contenders are Alpha Baby,Baton Rouge,Hatsuhana, Rugged Beauty and Lowndes Square. Rugged Beauty handicap is stiff, will be tough to win. Last run was impressive, has recovered from setback, will be the one to beat.Alpha Baby is running well but has the habit of easing once it crosses a horse, has to be ridden out, to win.Baton Rouge is in rousing form, winning 4 on a trot, today with Suraj riding can place.Lowndes Square can upset.

Race3. Enduring Star, What A Friend ,Mighty Heart. Upset :   Lock And Load.
A quality race. The contenders are Lock And Load,Mighty Heart,What A Friend and Enduring Star. If the jockey handles,Lock And Load should win. Mighty Heart is a one pace horse, would try the start to finish attempt can place.Enduring Star last performance was not up to the mark, the jockey switch will help it, also tracking well, watch out for a good performance.What A Friend last win was very good would have preferred John riding this horse, Jockey change may hamper its chances.

Race4. Sprawling Elegance,Snow Peaks,Good Gift Upset : Sanfrancisco Girl
A bad race where an upset can easily happen.

Race5. Sirono(Days best), Classic charge, Successor.  Upset : Magnanimity
A class I sprint race, where the main contenders would be Sirono,Classic Charge,Successor and Magnanimity.
Successor is tracking well, is tracking well, is speedy, the apprentice need to handle well, and can have a winner. Sirono is the youngest of the lot, running in this class for the 1st time. The manner of previous wins are extremely good, tracking extremely well, win Suraj to ride, will be very hard to toss. Classic Charge is at a good handicap, prepared well, will have a say. Magnanimity is the jack in the pack can upset provided jockey shows some good skills.Optimus Prime running after a long gap, don't know if everything is fine with it.

Race6.  Mad About You  Upset : Free Styler
Mad About You ran well last 2 times, but met superior horses both time, would look to end maiden status today.Ace Blood is tracking well, will run well.Free Styler has improved a lot, can upset.

Race7. Modern Art,Saddle Queen, The Senator Upset : Lester.
A race between these four horses only. Saddle queen can upset if odds are around 4/1 at race time.

Race8. Perfect Analysis,Your Destiny, Amiable lady.

Race9. Flame Back,Fiorucci,Man United Upset : Brave Cat
Flame Back win win by easy canter.Man United can place. Brave cat is the one to upset if any.

A long card of 10 races, expect a few surprises surely.

Race1. Monk's Ferrari Upset : Equality
 A class V race where a gamble is very likely. Ardent Lover can win, but is running too soon, earlier had blood vessel issue as well. Moreover it is carrying lot of weight. Very risky is what i feel.Monk's Ferrari in this handicap is the one to watch. Equality is better horse than this class, will win if fancied.

Race2. Doi Moi  Upset:Moonstar
Moonstar though has a good handicap, will find it tough to win. Doi Moi should win if fancied.

Race3. Dancing Money, Wings of Angel, Chieftain Upset :Distinguished
Bad race. Better to watch than play such races, where horses hardly have any merit.Chieftain looks set for a gamble. Dancing Money can upset all.Distinguished is also looking good for today's run.Wings Of Angels  has a chance to place.

Race4. Gerard, Glowing Star, Eye Of the Storm Upset: Sacred Relic
The race is between Gerard, Grant Park,Glowing Star, and Eye Of The Storm. Eye Of The Storm is carrying lot of wt. which might not help its cause, will still be a top contender for this race. Grant Park, ran well last time, will relish step up of distance. Glowing Star with R. Hughes to guide it will give fight to all. Gerard ran well last time, has improved further will be the main contender. Sacred Relic at this handicap, and change in jockey has a chance to upset. Clinton is very well bred horse, making his debut, had some setbacks for sure, better watch this horse.Not worth a bet though.

Race5. Javo, Maddox Upset: Secret service.
A 3 year old race.The main contenders are Maddox, Javo, Sheriff and Secret Service. Secret Service is bred for speed, tracking well can surprise. Sheriff, had an easy run last time out, has improved a lot can fight. Javo, is making its debut, is tracking well, with Stephen to guide its fortunes will surely fight. Maddox, ran well last time, would have improved further, everyone has to beat it.

Race6. Caramel(note) Royal Connection, Devil In Disguise Upset :Marigold
Another bad race where there are a lot of  horses running. The flow of money will decide the race.

Race7. Starrer, Icon,Michele Marieci Upset : Rose Bowl.
The race is between Starrer, Icon, Michele Marieci,  Sea Sparrow and Rose Bowl. 

Race8. Aliyana(days best), Scenic Silver, Cape Ferrat Upset : Star of Killarney.
The race is on the mercy of Aliyana.Scenic Silver, Bullet, Star Of Killarney and Cape Ferrat can try for remaining places.

Race9. Roesti, Pound Foolish, Western Challenge Upset : Titian
The race is between Titian, Pound Foolish,Roesti, and Western Challenge. Roesti will like the distance and can show its true potential here. Titian is another horse which can be watched.

Race10 Maria Teresa, Zaracha,Sea Warrior Upset : C'est La Vie
Maria Teresa ran well last time, has come up a lot, is the one to beat. The rest of contenders are Emerald Valley , C'est La Vie, Zaracha and Sea Warrior.

The card of 9 races for the day. A competitive day, with some upsets expected.

Race1.  Khwaish,Dream Of Gold, Niagara.
A three year maiden race.Niagara had an easy run last time out.Tracked nicely, looks very well prepared. The step up in distance will help it a lot.Dream Of Gold is also very well prepared, has come up a lot after last run, with Sylvester to ride will fight every inch of ground.Khwaish, has improved a lot after last run as well. The choice of Jockey is interesting, but equipment change is a positive move ,will place by default. Will it win? I believe it can win provided the Jockey tries to let the horse run its race rather than dictate the terms of race.

Race2. Royal Liason, Smile Again, Whisper Valley Upset : Spark Of Symphony
A class V mile race.The main contenders are Smile Again,Royal Liason,Spark Of Symphony and Whisper Valley. Royal liason can win provided the Jockey shows atleast some skill.

Race3. Mexikan Wave, Stellar Star ,Visual Element Upset : Amazon.
The main contenders are Mexikan Wave, Visual Element, Stellar Star, Amazon, and Prince Ashwin. Mexikan Wave, with its BLK off can run away from this set. Visual Element is in the improving curve, with Rathod to guide, will make a race of it.Stellar Star is horse with good initial speed, is drawn badly for start to finish attempt. May succeed, but will be very tough to win. Amazon and Prince Ashwin can try for minor places. Amazon is a horse which likes to swoop. Can upset note.

Race4.  Faustian,Bee For You, Suave.
The race is between Suave,Bee For You, Faustian and Roto Rooa. Suave, with the last run and jockey switch should run well.Bee For You is a very consistent horse, with Appu to ride, and the horse tracking quite well, will be a lively contender.Faustian handicap is best will surely make a race of it. Rota rooa won in lower class can place.

Race5. Caldera, Nishi Girl, Actor Upset: Star Of Hearts
The race is a dicey one.An upset is on the cards. The contenders are Kar O Bar,Nishi Girl,Caldera,Actor, Teleprompter and Star Of Hearts. Star Of Hearts last run was good, likes to come of pace, with a fast run race pace will be there. Kar O Bar drawn 1, will try to run away.Nishi Girl is a fast horse, will surely make the pace hot.Teleprompter is the jack in the  pack. Actor is default contender based on its last run. Caldera is a horse which is above this class surely, had major setback, tracked well, with Sylvester to guide it can make mockery of the competition.

Race6. Rumour Proof,Milagro,Rising Rainbow Upset :Authoritative
A competitive race, where lot of horses are equally matched.The race is between Rising Rainbow,Milagro,Rumour Proof and Authoritative. River rule and Fantabulous Prince can try for minor placings only.Rumour Proof has seen far better competition in its short racing career, if fit will win. Rising Rainbow is on a hat-trick, can win if former is not fit.Authoritative ran well last time, tracking well can upset. Milagro running its distance, with the handicap will keep everyone honest.


Race7. Mr Sunrise, Secret Fury, Jericho Upset : Veda Priya(note).
Veda Priya is tracking well, is Jockey can handle it can upset.Jericho though long in tooth will run well. Mr Sunrise is the main contender, the wt. is the only concern.Secret Fury can place.

Race8. Sunshower, Carnival Of Joy,Wynn Upset : Lancashire
Lancashire is an upper class horse, brought down to cause an upset(note).Bridge Too Far is running its distance, Jockey is a concern,also the fitness is not seen.Carnival Of Joy is prepared well, may be ready for a coup.Wynn ran well last time, is prepared well also, can win today. Sunshower is prepared well will run well.

The kolkata derby day. The day when pride takes the front seat, and suddenly all non performers of the season get the wings, and perform out of the blue.

Race1.Songstress, Melody Belle Upset : Knight Of Therealm
A 3 year old maidens race.Knight Of Therealm well bred running first time is very well prepared should run well.Melody Belle is well bred, performed well last time, showing some good speed, should be the main contender.Songstress is very well bred, with the foreign jockey riding , should give good account of itself.

Race2. Star Of Cardiff,Bluegrass.
Race3.Silken Dancer,Accomplished Upset : Strauss.
Race4. Make My Day,Saddle Chief, Missoni Upset : Flirting Eye
Race5. Recardo, Adriano,Born To Fly Upset : Our Little Savage
Race6. Delphi,Agent Archie Upset :Impressive Wish

Race7. Whistling Strait, Secrecy, Optimum Pride Upset : Salihah
A 3 year old sprint race. Secrecy is tracking well.Whistling Strait is tracking well, ran well last time, only concern is the weight.Optimum Pride ran well last time, has come up a lot, only concern is jockey.Salihah is best bred here, but does not look optimally prepared.

Race8.Upset : Xisca, Alice Springs, Hall Of Glory .Upset : Andromache
The EVEREADY CALCUTTA DERBY STAKES (2010-2011).
The Contenders:
Hall Of Glory : Best of the Khaitan horses' running. Prepared well, lost over 2000mts to Alice Spring earlier, well rested than its competitors. The Jockey has to pull something out of the ordinary to upset the fancied duo.
Ballibay: A hyped horse, very much a class II animal at most in Bangalore circuit, wont be able to compete in this distance in this class.
Alice Springs: A big hearted horse, will fight every inch of ground. With C.D. Hayes to guide her fortune will have a big say in the final outcome of the race.
Xisca : Won over same distance beating Alice Springs, but was given a fright.The horse is over raced than lot of horses, that is a concern. Stephen is a very renowned jockey in France specially for the derby  distance, will prove his mettle here, might be the difference today.
Andromache : Has improved a lot, can be the jack in the pack.

Race9.Bernardino, Zillionaire , Vence Upset : Giocometti
